Loan offer for repairs on Telford homes

People in Telford struggling to get loans for urgent home repairs or improvements have been told help is at hand.
Telford & Wrekin Council, in partnership with the West Midlands Kick Start Partnership, provides interest free loans and equity-release loans to those who need help but cannot get it in the traditional way from banks or other lenders.
Funds can be provided for work such as new windows, a leaking roof, heating systems, kitchens and bathrooms, loft insulation, structural repairs, home security, damp proof courses and energy efficiency.
As well as providing a free survey service, the scheme gives advice on the repairs needed and then also provides a reputable builder.
They can arrange for independent financial advice, if needed, and will oversee the work. For details e-mail homeimprovementteam@telford.gov.uk or call (01952) 381855.
