Time is right for first-time buyers in Wem

Experts are advising first time homebuyers in Wem to consider making the move into home ownership as the cost of renting is steadily increasing.

Statistics have shown that renting prices are on the up for the sixth consecutive time this year and are not expected to fall in the near future.

This means that with the current interest rate reductions and schemes like the popular Government-led HomeBuy Direct, which enables qualifying first time buyers to purchase a new home with a mortgage for just 70 per cent of its market value, buying a new home could be more reasonable than renting.

According to housebuilder Morris – the developer behind the Saxon Fields development, off Aston Street – now is the perfect time for first time buyers to consider getting a foot on the property ladder.

Julie Smith, regional sales director for Morris, said “The HomeBuy Direct scheme is an opportunity of a lifetime as it eliminates the biggest worry for first time buyers – saving for a huge deposit – and allows them to get the home of their dreams straight away.

“We’ve already helped many first time buyers secure a home at Saxon Fields through the HomeBuy Direct scheme.

“However, with the scheme due to end in the next couple of weeks and a limited number of homes remaining, we would encourage all first time buyers to register their interest as soon as possible to avoid missing out.”

Morris currently has a selection of properties available under the HomeBuy Direct scheme at Saxon Fields starting from just £80,325.

The Saxon Fields development is located in the heart of Wem with easy access to all the local amenities. It also has great transport links to Shrewsbury, Telford, Chester and Whitchurch.
