Event to raise profile of housing support
Friday 17th September 2010, 8:00AM BST.
A three-day event raising the profile of housing support services in Shropshire will take place later this month.
The event, which will be held in the Shirehall, in Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, from September 22 to 25, is being organised by the Shropshire Providers Forum.
A range of housing support providers are set to appear at the event to showcase the services they offer and how they work to provide help to people who need it most.
Shirley Castree, chairman of the Shropshire Providers Forum, said visitors would be given a chance to see the diversity of services available across client groups with differing needs and ages.
She said: “With increased pressure on funding available, the housing support providers and customers across Shropshire would like to demonstrate that this investment in support funding saves statutory and crisis funding in many cases, through early intervention.”
Prior to the event there will be an information display at the Shirehall on September 22 and 23, although service users will only be there for the roadshow on September 24.
Partner agencies who will be appearing on the day include Severnside Housing, Shropshire Housing Group, Stonham, Shropshire Housing Alliance, and Shropshire Association for Sheltered Housing.
