Diverse properties for sale at auction

Fourteen diverse Shropshire, Cheshire and Mid Wales properties with a combined guide price of more than £1.4 million are set to go under the hammer at a collective auction in Shrewsbury later this month.
Leading auctioneers Halls are delighted with the varied selection of residential properties and land on offer, with guide prices ranging from £35,000 to £200,000.
The lots range from a traditional Welsh border cottage smallholding and renovation projects, to a former limestone quarry and blocks of pastureland.
The auction takes place at Shrewsbury Town Football Club’s Greenhous Meadow Stadium on Thursday, September 23 at 3pm.
Certain to appeal to those seeking a traditional rural cottage smallholding with glorious views over the Powys-Shropshire border is Far Hill Cottage at Moel-y-Golfa, Trewern, near Welshpool, which has a guide price of £125,000.
This two-bedroomed cottage, which is in need of renovation and modernisation, comes with just under two acres of grounds and paddocks.
The lots include two blocks of productive pastureland at Dolau, Llanfair Caereinion. One lot comprising 39 acres of pastureland with some woodland and a natural water supply has a guide price of £175,000 to £200,00.
The other, comprising 24 acres of pastureland with a natural water supply, has a guide price of £100,000 to £120,000.
A former East Shropshire limestone quarry, which now comprises woodland and a pool stocked with pike and bream, has a guide price of between £120,000 and £140,000.
Old Limekiln Plantation, Barracks Lane, Lilleshall, near Telford extends to more than 13 acres and is ideally located on the edge of a village within 17 miles of Wolverhampton.
The property has potential as a private amenity, a site for charitable or environmental bodies or for commercial leisure activities.
Likely to be of interest to horse owners are two other small blocks of Shropshire land.
A 4.72-acre undulating pasture paddock at The Rudge on the edge of Leighton village, near Shrewsbury, which has excellent road access and a mains water supply, has a guide price of £35,000 to £45,000.
Also on offer is a 4.13-acre block of versatile, level pastureland with a pole barn at Bolas Road, Ercall Heath, near Telford, which has a guide price of £35,000 to £40,000.
Six residential properties in north Shropshire and south Cheshire feature in the auction. Number 30 Hill Crescent, Duddleston Heath, Ellesmere, a one-bedroomed fourplex bungalow with two parking spaces and paved patio garden, has guide price of £50,000 to £55,000.
Number 10 Claypit Street Terrace, Whitchurch, a three-bedroomed end-of-terrace, mature property in a desirable edge-of-town location with front and rear gardens, has a guide price of £100,000.
Home hunters seeking a renovation project are being advised to check out 11, Wynter Lane, Tilston, near Malpas, which has a guide price of £80,000 to £90,000. This three-bedroomed, mid-terrace property is in need of major refurbishment and redecoration and has good-sized front and rear gardens.
Another renovation project is 1 and 2 Hurdle View, The Lane, Willington, near Malpas, which comprise a pair of Grade II listed semi-detached country cottages
The cottages, which have a guide price of £130,000 to £150,000, have immense potential and stand in gardens that extend to around 0.8 of an acre. Number one Hurdle View has one bedroom while the adjoining cottage has two bedrooms
On offer with a guide price of £50,000 to £55,000, are 40, Upper Church Street, Oswestry and 5 New Terrace, St Martins. Number 40 Upper Church Street is a one-bedroomed town house situated within easy walking distance of the centre, while 5 New Terrace is a two-bedroomed cottage ripe for renovation near the centre of the village.
A guide price of £150,000 to £170,000 is attached to Vine House, The Fold, Dorrington, near Shrewsbury, which is an individual, split-level house with six bedrooms, an integral garage and rear garden.
Set in the rural hamlet of Melverley, near Shrewsbury, is Vine Cottage, a semi-detached, four bedroomed house with low maintenance, level gardens and parking for up to three cars. This property has a guide price of £140,000 to £150,000.
