Customers at two Shropshire motor dealerships will be among the very first in the UK to get a sneak preview of Ford’s newest model.

Furrows of Telford is hosting a preview event for the new Ford B-Max which is not officially launched until October.

But on Monday August 20, from 6pm to 8pm, customers will get the chance to see a pre-production model that is touring leading Ford dealers around the country.

The B-Max will then move on to Furrows of Shrewsbury where a similar preview will be held on Tuesday August 21, from 6pm to 8pm.

New vehicle sales manager at the Telford dealership, Antony Frost, said: “We’ve been extremely lucky to secure the vehicle so far ahead of its official launch, and we’ve had a great deal of interest already.

“The B-Max is a really practical family vehicle, and we’re sure it will prove extremely popular with our customers.”

Antony said the B-Max has an industry-leading easy access door system which makes it particularly suitable for families.

“It will be great for Motability customers too as there is no pillar between the doors – the front door opens out and the rear door slides back, so once they’re both open there is an impressive 1.5m of space making it easier to get in and out.

“All the seats also fold down, including the front passenger seat, which means the interior is extremely flexible and the vehicle can actually accommodate a 2.3m long load.

“The B-Max is the first vehicle in Europe to feature the Ford Sync system which allows the driver to control their music and make and receive calls on their mobile phone, simply by using their voice. It will even read aloud any text messages they receive,” said Antony.

The system also has an emergency assistance feature which automatically uses the driver’s mobile phone to call the emergency services when it detects that the car has been in an accident – this is triggered when the airbag is deployed or the fuel is cut off.

“It really is a brilliant vehicle and there is nothing like it on the market. We’d be delighted to welcome motorists to our preview events and look forward to giving them the first glimpse of such a great car.”
