Citroen concept van shows a bold vision of the future
Monday 5th September 2011, 3:06PM BST.
These pictures show the crazy world of Citroen, who have taken the standard fare for designing concept cars – shiny paintwork, bright colours, sci-fi interiors – and then decided to do something a little bit different.
That’s right, they’ve taken those principles and put them in. . . a van.
Named the Tubik, this concept van was unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show and, no, it isn’t likely to go into production.

Which is a real shame because it’s gloriously nuts. Inspired by the famous Type H van, it borrows the old aggressive styling, but with a very modern twist.
Nowhere is this more obvious than in the door to the cabin, which sees the entire side of the van open up to reveal the Tubik’s sci-fi interior.
Seating nine people, it has a stylish pod for the driver, with fingerprint recognition to start the engine, and then a living room for everyone else.
All of the seats can be adjusted and readjusted for maximum comfort and with a high-definition TV and surround sound system, the Tubik is more private jet than MPV.
Like most concept vehicles, it isn’t set to go into production, but certain influences could well find their way into future large Citroens.
