Visiting the island of Ibiza does not appeal to me, too many younger people making me feel very old, although I am told the scenary is fantastic away from the clubs and beaches, writes Sharon Walters.

But one Ibiza I am fond of and enjoy visiting is Seat’s supermini the Ibiza.

There’s a range of trim and engines to suit just about all needs. Prices start at £9,925 for the entry level 1.2 and rise up to £18,275 for the inspiring Cupra Bocanagera. But for between £10,500 and £13,000 you can get a very well equipped car.

It is also a safe little car with a five-star Euro NCAP crash-test rating, dual front and side airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchor points.

I recently drove the 1.4 Chill version and remembered just how good the Ibiza was.

Available in Ibiza SC, 5DR and ST, the Chill delivers both dynamism and luxury in a sleek, sporty package. Driving the Chill means an interior that caters to you, and an exterior that is the epitome of cool.

Standard equipment includes: 16 inch alloy wheels, climate control, front electric windows, cruise control, trip computer, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, dark tinted rear windows, integrated front fog lights with cornering function, body coloured door handles and mirrors, tinted glass, Bluetooth, MP3-compatib;le CD player with combined USB port and AUX-in, steering wheel mounted audio controls, six speakers, remote central locking and ABS.

The 1.4 engine in the SC with 85ps delivers a great drive and is currently £9,995 on-the-road. That’s a saving of £2,720 on the ‘book price’ made up of Seat’s no VAT for cars registered before the end of March and a further £400 off special offer.

Sales manager Barrie Hughes at dealers J T Hughes in Oswestry explained that the current offer is made even better by a finance deal that involves just £183 deposit and 42 monthly payments of £183. Now that is a great deal.
