Hagley Car Club announces 2011 dates

Hagley Car Club, organisers of speed hill climb events at Loton Park, near Shrewsbury, and throughout the region, has announced its dates for the diary in 2011.
The season kicks off with the Geoff Taylor Sporting Trial for two-seater lightweight specials, fighting for traction on the grassy slopes of Hurtle Hill Farm, at Heightington, near Cleobury Mortimer, on Sunday, February 6.
Two rounds of the prestigious British Hill Climb Championship, where Ludlow driver Scott Moran is seeded Number 2 and his father Roger is Number 4 for, are being held at Loton Park on Sunday, June 12 and Sunday, September 25, with practice for both events the Saturday before.
The Midland Hill Climb Championship visits the deer park setting of Sir Michael Leighton’s stately home at Alberbury on Easter Monday, April 25 and Sunday, May 22, with the final round being hosted on Sunday, September 25, running alongside the national event. Local driver Will Hall of Romsley, is the current Midland Hill Climb Champion.
National club meetings, hosting a wide variety of sports cars, saloons, racing cars and motorcycles are being held on April 24 and 25,July 9 and 10, August 13 and 14 and September 10 and 11.
Cressage rider Paul Jarrett holds the current hill record for motorcycles with a time of 55.23 seconds on his Aprilia. The Vintage Sports Car Club is staging its popular meeting at Loton Park on the weekend of July 16 and 17and the 55th running of the renowned Ken Wharton Memorial Autotests will take place at Alcester on October 8.
