Thousands expected at Blists Hill fireworks display
Tuesday 26th October 2010, 9:37AM BST.
Up to 3,000 revellers are expected to pour into the county for one of Shropshire’s largest fireworks events next month.
Bosses at Blists Hill Victorian Town in Ironbridge Gorge are gearing up to welcome the huge crowds expected at the museum on November 6.
Pat Edgar, spokeswoman, said the annual event never fails to pull in the punters who also get a chance to walk around the Victorian town under the cover of darkness.
The Victorian residents will also be out in force and have promised to keep their shops, workshops and cottages open before watching the colourful pyrotechnic display over the Ironbridge Gorge.
Doors open at 6pm with the first fireworks kicking off at 7.30pm.
The museum’s new Canal Street, with its Sweet Shop and Fried Fish Dealers, will also be open and the New Inn will be selling pints of real ale before the show.
Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling (01952) 884391.

Not at their extortionate entry prices they won’t be – go and support your local community bonfire instead of lining their bank accounts – they’ve already had huge grant income – disgraceful

It made a welcome change to see your picture caption saying that the museum is in Madeley, not Ironbridge as usual.
I hope they’re running the free buses from the Town Centre again, and that the selfish idiots who park on the verges and footpath along Legges Way get hefty fines.
