Payout for ex-West Mid Show boss
Thursday 15th April 2010, 2:59PM BST.
A former boss of Shrewsbury’s West Mid Show has received a settlement from his former employers after being made redundant when the organising society went into financial meltdown.
Gary Tudor was the commercial director of the Shropshire and West Midlands Agricultural Society until November 4 last year when his position ceased to exist.
Mr Tudor sought legal advice and an employment tribunal was due to take place today at Prospect House in Shrewsbury, but it was cancelled after both parties agreed a financial settlement.
Mr Tudor and representatives of the society today refused to comment on the amount or details of the settlement due to a confidentiality clause. “I can confirm a settlement has been agreed,” said Mr Tudor.
Meanwhile society chairman Roy Dodd said a bid by the society’s original insolvency practitioners Rimes & Co to get a winding up order of the organisation was yesterday dismissed at a hearing in Birmingham.
He said: “It was refused because we have come to an agreement with our creditors.”
A spokeswoman from the chancery division of the Company Court in Birmingham confirmed the case was dismissed yesterday. Nobody was available for comment from the insolvency practitioners today.
