Shane wants to stay at Shrews
Thursday 15th April 2010, 1:25PM BST.

Out-of-contract defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff today declared his desire to extend his stay at Shrewsbury Town.
The Australian is one of 10 players whose current deals are due to expire at the end of the season and now face an anxious wait to see what their future holds.
No official decisions have yet been taken over which players will be offered fresh contracts.
But Cansdell-Sherriff is desperately hoping he has done enough to remain at the Prostar Stadium.
“I would love to stay here,” said Cansdell-Sherriff,who has enjoyed lengthy spells at left-back and centre half this season and has made 71 starts in his two years with the club.
“The club and the set-up are great so I would like to stay here and get some success. I don’t think the decisions (on contracts) will be made until the club knows where we are going to be next season.
“I’m confident I’ve worked hard enough this season to show I can do a job for the team and in different positions as well.
“Hopefully I’m valuable enough to stay on but it will come down to what the manager and the other staff think.”
Cansdell-Sherriff’s immediate focus remains on the concluding four games of the campaign.
And while he admitted there would be an overwhelming sense of disappointment if Shrewsbury end the season outside the play-off places, he is refusing to give up hope.
“It would be disappointing if we didn’t make it because we have shown what we can do with some good runs this season,” said the 27-year-old.
“We all come in and work hard every day and you want something out of it like getting to the play-offs.
“But it’s definitely not over so we have to keep fighting. We have got four more games left, three against teams above us, and we have to try and give ourselves every chance.”
- Striker Kris Bright was on the mark twice for Town’s reserves in a 2-0 victory at Sheffield Wednesday yesterday.
