Tickets to see comics sell out
Friday 9th April 2010, 10:25AM BST.
Tickets for two shows at Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn featuring comedy and TV stars Jason Manford and Al Murray have all been snapped up – just hours after going on sale.
Demand from the public for the events has far exceeded supply and they are believed to be among the quickest shows to sell out in its short history.
The two comedians – stars of shows such as Eight out of Ten Cats and Time Gentleman Please – are performing at the theatre this year. Tickets only went on sale this week.
Manford returns to the venue after his hugely popular gig last year, on May 21 at 8pm as a late addition to his current sell-out tour.
While Murray comes to the town for a warm-up gig on October 1 at 8pm, prior to his national tour.
Theatre manager Peter Nicholson said: “First of all we were very lucky to secure the booking of both artists, particularly Al Murray.
“It’s tremendous news for the theatre when things like this sell out so quickly.”
