Meeting chance to grill hopefuls
Thursday 8th April 2010, 11:13AM BST.
Ludlow residents will get the chance to quiz all Parliamentary candidates standing in their constituency at a public meeting organised by Ludlow 21 and Churches Together Around Ludlow next week.
There are six candidates for the Ludlow constituency, which covers most of south Shropshire.
Peter Norman of Ludlow 21 will be one of the chairmen for the event.
He said: “My intention is to ensure that all candidates are treated equally as they all have the same democratic rights.
“The audience will have a chance to make comments, but we will have to keep an eye on the time.
“We are looking forward to some challenging questions for the candidates on environmental and ethical issues.”
The candidates are Philip Dunne (Conservative), Heather Kidd (Liberal Democrat), Anthony Hunt (Labour), Jacqui Morrish (Green Party), Christina Evans (BNP) and Christopher Gill (UKIP).
The Reverend Doctor Neil Richardson of Churches Together Around Ludlow will be in the chair.
Questions for the panel should be sent in advance to him at neilgrichard son@live.co.uk or to Alan Latchford at palatchford@btinternet.com
The meeting will be next Tuesday at 7.30pm in the main hall at Ludlow School.
