Witness plea after pair flee house arson attack

fire_engine3A fire which forced a man and woman to climb to safety from an upstairs window in Maesbrook, near Oswestry, is being treated as arson, police said today.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses and information about the blaze at the detached home, early yesterday.

Detective Inspector Ernie Locke, of West Mercia Police, who is leading the investigation, said: “The woman received slight cuts and bruises, but otherwise they were unharmed, although badly shaken.”
