Twenty jobs are to be created at a Shropshire village pub which is to undergo a £100,000 revamp.

The Last Inn in Church Aston, near Newport, has been bought by Heart FM DJ Nick Snaith.

The pub will be relaunched in June by Mr Snaith, who used to part-own The Swan at Forton with his parents.

Mr Snaith, who is originally from Newport, is also known for his work as a presenter on BBC1′s Holiday show and owns a bar and club in Notting Hill, London.

He said he was planning to “pull the historic pub into the 21st century” but retain its countryside character.

Mr Snaith added: “I will employ five full-time staff and 15 part-time.”
