New classes to help mums get in shape
Tuesday 30th March 2010, 9:35AM BST.
New mums can get on track to post-pregnancy fitness by exercising while pushing their babies around in “Buggyfit” classes being launched by a Shropshire fitness instructor.
Vikki Heath will put mums through their paces in outdoor exercise sessions in Shrewsbury and Harmer Hill.
She said: “The best thing is that women are able to get out into the fresh air and exercise with their babies.
“New mums can start exercising once they’ve had their six-week post-baby check, and the sooner they start the quicker they’ll get back into shape.
The drop-in classes take place on Wednesdays in The Quarry, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm, starting at the bandstand, and on Thursdays at Rural Space fitness studio, in Pim Hill, Harmer Hill, from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
They involve power-walking, jogging and muscle toning exercises. Classes cost £4. For details call Vikki on (01939) 291988.
