Mr Paterson said today he would press the Government for answers on why recommendations for the A5 between Shrewsbury and the Welsh border to be dualled have never been taken up.

    I am a retired West Mercia Traffic Motor Cyclist.Now living in Bournemouth.
    I used to Police this road regually. Speed Enforcement on this section of road used to detect speeds sometimes of over 100mph. This was in the 90′s and it would appear it is no better now. It is tragic when there are fatalities but the old ‘maxim’ speed kills is certainly correct
