I’m afraid that the proposal to ban smoking in cars occupied by children represents an
unwarranted intrusion into the privacy and autonomy of parenthood. The autonomy to
make one’s own decision about risks to subject a child to is not to be interfered with lightly.
It should only be done in cases where there is a substantial threat of severe harm
to the child. Interfering with parental autonomy in a case where there is only minor
risk involved is unwarranted.

talk about nanny state and big brother, yes i am a smoker and proud of it.The amount of tax, that the goverment gets on fags is unbelivable if everyone stopped smoking then there will be a shortfall in taxes . how will the labour party recoup the loss of earnings that tax on fags brings in, from everone weather you smoke or not. You dogooders like to think you can tell us w;hat we should and shouldnt do but we are all fed up with being told what we can and cant do. Talk about big brother its up to the individual what they do and dont do, and we are all fed up with the goverment, who are themselfs are criminals and live in lala land and have broken the law with no come back, you or i would have been prosecuted, and they carry on breaking law.tHE GOVERMENT DONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS,SINGLE MOTHERS WHO HAVE BABIES BY VARIOUS MEN AND NEVER WORK, WHILE THE LAW ABIDING AND HARD WORKING PEOPLE ;TRY THEIR BEST TO PAY ALL THE GOVERMENT TAXES ON THE BLINDING STUPID THINGS THAT THE GOVERMENT BRING IN AND WE ARE ALL TOTALLY FED UPWITH THE LABOUR PARTYS NANNY STATE. TAKE A STAND STOP PAYING ALL THESE STUPID TAXZES IF EVERYONE STUCK TOGETHER AND REFUSED TO PAY ,WHAT ARE THE GOVERMENT GOING TO DO TAKE EVERYONE IN ENGLAND TO COURT.
