Des O'Connor (not) Tonight
Entertainer Des O’Connor, who was set to perform in Shropshire next week, has cancelled his shows “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
The singer and presenter was due to take to the stage for two performances at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on March 25.
Dido Blench, marketing manager for the Assembly Rooms, said she was now hoping to reschedule the performances but it will not be until at least the autumn. She said: “Des O’Connor’s engagement at the Assembly Rooms, Ludlow, on March 25 has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
“Des is sorry for any inconvenience and disappointment this may cause and we are looking at rescheduling the date in due course.”

Sorry. It was me.
Speaking of Eric Morecambe, did you know Spike Milligan once reprimanded him for missing a very obvious Des joke?
Eric had been on the telly with Des O’Connor, and Des had asked if he could sing on the Morecambe and Wise Show.
“You should have said, ‘You can’t sing on your own show,’” wrote Spike.
