Satirical writer on theatre’s bill
Friday 12th March 2010, 10:56AM GMT.
A satirical writer and musician will perform at the Gateway arts and education centre in Shrewsbury tonight from 7.30pm.
Private Eye, Now Show and News Quiz writer/musician James Sherwood’s performance comes off the back of sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival and many other venues.
Following in the footsteps of the likes of Flanders and Swann, John Amis and Richard Stilgoe, the young comedian and musician seamlessly interweaves the political and satirical into his inspired ditties accompanying himself on the keyboard.
He also regularly reviews the newspapers on Sky News, writes a regular blog on the Guardian website and is a regular contributor on BBC comedy shows.
The show is suitable for those aged 16 or over. Entry costs between £5 and £10. Call (01743) 281281; 355159 or visit www.shropshiremusictrust.com
