Human trafficking case set for court

Thursday 11th March 2010, 12:11PM GMT.

telford-mags-lead1Six men were due to appear in court in Telford today charged with a number of human trafficking offences.

The men were arrested on Tuesday as part of an ongoing operation into human trafficking and sexual offences.

Detective Superintendent Steve Cullen today said the men were due to appear at Telford Magistrates Court this morning.

A woman also arrested on Tuesday has since been released on police bail.

Det Supt Cullen said: “Wellington is a relatively small town and, although it only involves a relatively small amount of people, it does appear that much of the activity we are investigating is centred in that part of Telford.

“With that in mind, I’d like to ask local people to come forward with any information that they feel could assist with our investigation.”
