Trafficking inquiry gets more time

Wednesday 10th March 2010, 1:15PM GMT.

Police have been given more time to quiz seven people arrested in Telford on suspicion of human trafficking as part of an inquiry into an alleged child sex ring.

The six men and a woman were expected to be in custody for at least the rest of today.

Police said searches and forensic investigations were ongoing at a number of properties believed to be in the Wellington area.

Yesterday’s arrests are believed to be connected to an investigation which saw five men charged last December over a child sex ring involving nine teenage girls.
