One of Oswestry’s top bands is to support the son of Sir Paul McCartney in a major gig in Birmingham this month.

The Kayas hope the concert with James McCartney will help them break out onto the national stage.

Last year James McCartney played gigs anonymously under the name Light but his cover was blown by a newspaper and he is now embarking on a UK tour under his real name. He says The Beatles are among his inspirations.

The Kayas say they are thrilled to be supporting him. Manager Phil Beaumont said: “The Kayas really deserve this break and we hope it will give them the recognition they deserve.”
