The restored Picture Room at Attingham
A Shropshire National Trust property has thrown open its doors and unveiled its latest developments as part of an ambitious restoration project.
Attingham Park, near Shrewsbury, is undergoing the restoration, conservation and the re-display of its Regency interiors.
Recent progress with the Attingham Re-discovered project includes the uncovering of a rare and nationally significant 1807 decorative scheme on paper which has been hidden for many years under several layers of oil paint and the re-creation of the rich Octagon Room curtains have been hung.
Sarah Kay, project curator, said the curtains took five years to make and were an accurate production of the originals.
