Letter: Meals service is a vital one

Tuesday 9th March 2010, 7:58AM GMT.

26chinesefood.jpgLetter: I have been delivering Meals On Wheels for the past 25 years. Most of the time, we are the only daily contact these people have with another person.

If the council expects the majority of people on my round to work out how to microwave frozen meals, they are living in cloud-cuckoo-land.

The difference in cost to the council between daily hot meals and weekly frozen meals must be minuscule. Do our councillors honestly expect to look after these old people with what must be a minimal difference?

If so, how?
