Tribute to celebrate lives of Sue and Frankie

Thursday 4th March 2010, 2:02PM GMT.

Francesca and Susan McFallA service to celebrate the lives of tragic Shropshire mother and daughter Sue and Frankie McFall will be held in their home town next week.

The service will be at St Oswald’s Parish Church in Oswestry on Tuesday at 1.30pm.

The bodies of Mrs McFall, 56, and her 18-year-old daughter were found at their family home in Hampton Road on February 5, just hours before Hugh McFall, 48, Mrs McFall’s husband and Frankie’s father, was found at his lock-up in St Martins.

Police believe that he murdered his wife and daughter before killing himself.

Funeral directors David Davies, announced the service today and invited people who go along to wear colourful clothing.

Today the Reverend Simon Thorburn, the vicar of St Oswald’s, said that the service would be an opportunity for everybody to say thank you for the lives of Mrs McFall and Frankie.

“They are lives that both have been cut short so very young, but particularly in the case of Frankie,” he said.

“By wearing cheerful clothes those at the service will mirror the lives and the characters of those who they are giving thanks for.

“This will be a time to support the family and help them to try to move forward.”

Those attending the service who wish to make a donation in memory of Mrs McFall and Frankie can do so, through the funeral directors, to the Hope House Children’s Hospice.

The family was a big supporter of the hospice at Morda and often attended functions held to raise money for the charity.

At an inquest, which opened on February 11, it was revealed that Mrs McFall and Frankie died of head injuries and Mr McFall was found hanged inside his lock-up.

Mr John Ellery, coroner for Mid and North Shropshire, heard a brief outline of the police investigation and adjourned the hearing to a date to be fixed.
