Restaurant’s furniture is stolen

Richard Harrison, chef, at the River House Kitchen in Bridgnorth, after the theft
Thieves snatched thousands of pounds worth of garden furniture from the terrace of a Bridgnorth restaurant.
The theft from the River House Kitchen, on the banks of the River Severn in Low Town, is believed to have taken place some time between Saturday night and Monday morning.
Manager Anthony Whyton said four patio heaters, worth £400 each, and a selection of outdoor furniture including expensive glass top tables and 30 fold-up chairs had been taken.
“It’s a real mystery to us because we don’t know how the thieves could have load-ed all the furniture onto a vehicle without being seen. They’d have needed a van or a lorry to carry away the furniture. This must have been very conspicuous as it was being loaded up,” he said.
Mr Whyton said they had been forced to pay out thousands of pounds to replace the furniture and heaters.
Police confirmed they had received a report of the furniture being taken from the terrace. They asked anyone who may have information to contact Bridgnorth police on 0300 3333000.
