office-workerThe Shropshire Star is joining forces with Telford Shopping Centre and Telford College of Arts and Technology to host a new skills and careers exhibition later this month.

Future Skills & Careers 2010 is being staged inside the shopping centre from March 22 to 27, and will be open for business during the centre’s normal hours Monday to Saturday, including Thursday evening.

Michael Haines, corporate regional advertising manager for the Shropshire Star who is organising the event, said: “We are delighted to work with the Telford Shopping Centre and our key sponsor Telford College of Arts and Technology to provide our readers and the general public with a portfolio of opportunities for all age groups.

“In the current climate it is vital that people are trained and educated to a high standard, ready for when the economy improves. It is amazing how many opportunities are available in our local area. Many impressive training centres will be available during the week to offer advice.

“It is important to us that we can be of help to school leavers, people who have been made redundant or looking for a change of career. Telford College of Arts and Technology have taken the entire space outside of Debenhams in the main square.”

Alison Gray, from Telford College of Arts and Technology, said it was a perfect time to be staging such an event, with the changing jobs and education market. She said staff would be on hand to provide information about courses and qualifications.

  • There are still some exhibition stands available. For details call Michael Haines on (01952) 241333.
