Workshops for guitar beginners

A Shrewsbury music and media centre is set to run a series of beginners’ rock guitar workshops for youngsters aged between 9 and 11.
Offering tuition in improvising rock and blues, basic chord shapes and scales, the workshops at The Hive in Belmont are perfect for children looking to make quick progress without having to pay for expensive private lessons.
There will also be the opportunity to play as part of a band at the end of term. Guitars can be provided if participants are unable to bring their own.
Teaching will be carried out in a small group to ensure effective learning, as a result spaces are very limited so people are advised to book early.
The first workshop will be held on March 18 at 4pm.
