Dragon Tower plan revealed

The applicant says the tower would rival the Angel of the North as an attraction
It is hoped the Waking the Dragon project will become a cultural icon for North Wales in the way the Statue of Liberty is for America, Wrexham businessman Simon Wingett, who is behind the project, said.
The proposals have been backed by Wrexham Council and Visit Wales. Money raised from patrons will go to the Frank Wingett Cancer Appeal.

I am shocked that Wales are proposing something as tasteless as this.There is no comparison with the Angel of the North which is amazing.
This is like a monster from a film set, Dr Who perhaps?
I am a huge supporter of great public art but this is not art but Disneyish, if you know what I mean.
Our Quantum Leap is streets ahead of this in innovation.

What planet are these people on?
No money for front line services, libraries and leisure centres facing the axe along with thousands of jobs, but still the ****** in charge can waste millions on this type of tat. Glad to see they have their priorities right!

Errr!!! Tell me if i am wrongly mistaken but is there a recession on.
Another suggestion is build a statue of St George so that he can slay the dragon on the English side of the border.

Yet another complete waste of taxpayers’s money. As if it wasn’t bad enough with the giant slinky…now we are facing this monstrosity!
Marginally better than reading about how yet another politician spends our hard earned taxes on his ‘holiday home and staff’ I suppose.

Love it, although i think it would be better off on the severn estuary, by the severn bridge or just off the M4. Don’t have it anywhere near Shropshire because people will just find something to complain about..

Excellent idea – I love the idea of a mighty Welsh dragon baring its teeth at our English neighbours.
oh Spencer, the Mabiniogion is a series of Welsh folklore stories from the 8th to 9th century. featuring the Welsh legend which is King Arthur and Merlin in parts.
