Poster bid to trace missing Hayden
Friday 26th February 2010, 10:00AM GMT.
Posters of missing Shropshire teenager Hayden Reynolds-Evans could be handed out at an upcoming Shrewsbury Town football match as the search continues to try to find him.
And police today said they are in talks with the football club about carrying out a similar initiative for all high-profile missing people who have been missing for a number of days to help with the searches. Bosses of the club said talks were continuing and it would do its “best” to help if it could.
Hayden, 18, of Castle Foregate in Shrewsbury, vanished nearly a month ago, but his family today said they were still positive he would be found safe and well.
They have distributed posters across the county and further afield in the hope somebody may come forward with information to help find Hayden, who has not been seen since leaving The Albion Vaults pub in Castle Foregate on February 1.
A group set up by Hayden’s brother Khyle on social networking site Facebook has also so far been joined by more than 5,200 people.
His aunt Tanya Williams, of Shrewsbury, said: “People have been phoning up different members of the family asking if they can put posters up and we’re happy for it to go as far afield as we can.”
Detective Inspector Phil Shakesheff, West Mercia Police’s force missing lead, said police were in talks with the football club.
Anyone with information about Hayden is asked to call police on 0300 333 3000.
