Date set for footbridge

Wednesday 24th February 2010, 11:30AM GMT.

A new footbridge to replace one which was severely damaged when a digger on the back of a lorry hit it, should be replaced by the middle of June.

Designs are still being drawn up for the new footbridge for Hazeldine Way in the town, after the previous bridge was badly damaged last October.

John Williams, Shropshire Council’s team leader for structures, said: “We are hoping to start building the bridge in early June, with a completion date of mid-June.”
