On-a-roll Bucks can gatecrash play-offs

Saturday 20th February 2010, 11:20AM GMT.

AFC Telford chairman Lee Carter believes there are “plenty of points to play for and plenty of points to prove” in the Blue Square North play-off race.

“There is always a team that goes into the play-offs with momentum and hopefully that will be us,” said Carter ahead of today’s game at Harrogate.

The Bucks have turned their season around by winning three of their last four games, scoring 18 goals, to be just three points adrift of a play-off spot.

And Carter is hoping his side can emulate the achievements of Barrow in 2008, when they beat Telford in the play-off semi-finals after a lengthy unbeaten run.

“If we do get there, then it will inevitable that we will have momentum because of the position we have started from,” added Carter.

“You are always likely to play a side that have missed out on top spot and they’re feeling a bit down on themselves.

“So why not? We shouldn’t rule anything out.

“We have got plenty of points to play for and plenty of points to prove – so let’s go for it.”
