New lock gates for canal junction

The gate is lifted out of the canal
British Waterways says the locks provide a unique link in the 2,200 mile waterway network.
And it says that it is expecting even more visitors to travel through them this summer as the nearby Pontcysyllte and Chirk Aqueducts are now a world heritage site.
“Frankton Locks stand at the crossroads of a major visitor route linking the tourism heartlands of England and Wales,” said Wendy Capelle.
