Motorists in Shrewsbury faced traffic chaos when two lorries shed separate loads of potatoes and bricks at the same spot in the space of an hour.
The incidents happened yesterday on the A458 near the Dobbies island.
A spokesman from the Highways Agency said the road did not need to be closed but access was restricted during the recovery of the two loads.
He said: “At 12.30pm a lorry shed its load of bricks on the A458 near to Dobbies Garden Centre.
“At 1.30pm a lorry shed its load of potatoes at the same spot.”
He added it was not known what had caused the two lorries had shed their loads in the same place.
Richard Ewels, spokesman for West Mercia Police, said they were made aware of the shed loads by the Highways Agency, but were not required.
Nobody was injured in either of the incidents.
