Brown’s days at Telford are over

Thursday 18th February 2010, 1:32PM GMT.

Bucks logoAFC Telford United manager Rob Smith today all but ruled out defender Aaron Brown adding to his sole appearance for the club.

Brown was signed over the Christmas and New Year period and played in the defeat at Stafford Rangers.

But the former Burton Albion man, who has trained with Accrington Stanley in recent months, is unlikely to figure for the Bucks again.

“Aaron came in just to help us out while Lee Vaughan was suspended,” said Smith.

“He has signed for Truro City recently and is still hoping to get a contract at Accrington so I don’t expect us to use him again.”

Meanwhile, Sean Newton has emerged as the only real injury doubt for Saturday’s Blue Square North trip to bottom club Harrogate.

There had been concerns over Andy Brown (illness), Adam Dugdale (hip), Liam Blakeman (Achilles) and Sean Newton (hamstring) after last Saturday’s victory over Redditch, while Danny Carey-Bertram missed the game with a hamstring problem.

But Smith has issued a positive injury update.

“There are no problems with Andy and Adam while Liam, Danny and Sean have all done some light training,” added the Bucks boss.

“Sean Newton is the only one we have a worry over but I would say it is 70-30 in favour of him playing so hopefully we will have no problems for Saturday.”
