Divers in hunt for teenager
Wednesday 17th February 2010, 1:12PM GMT.
Police underwater divers were today carrying out a search of the River Severn as part of the hunt for missing Shrewsbury teenager Hayden Reynolds-Evans.
Concern is growing for the safety of the 18-year-old who has not been seen since leaving a town centre pub on February 1.
His family has issued a desperate plea for anybody who has any information to get in touch with police and say Hayden’s disappearance is “totally out of character”.
Richard Ewels, spokesman for West Mercia Police, said the search for the teenager was continuing.
He said: “We carried out further house-to-house inquiries last night.” Mr Ewels said the family was being kept informed.
Meanwhile fears are also growing for the safety of another Shrewsbury man, Andrew Griffiths who has not been in contact with his family since January 31.
The 28-year-old is known to have boarded a train at Shrewsbury on February 2. He is described as white, about 6ft 3in tall, of heavy build and with cropped, mousy-coloured hair.
Call police on 0300 333 3000 if you can help.
