Brian RobbLeading Shropshire boxing coach Brian Robb faces crunch time next week when he learns if he faces a ban from the sport.

Robb will attend an Amateur Boxing Association disciplinary hearing in London next Thursday.

The former Shrewsbury Amateur Boxing Club coach faces two counts of bringing the sport into disrepute, one over the type of comments made to the Press and the other for using inappropriate language to a fellow member of the ABA.

Both incidents came following a controversial national semi-final defeat for Dan Cartwright.

“The maximum punishment is a suspension for five years from all activity and/or a £5,000 fine,” said Barry Jones, the ABA’s national child protection and equity manager.
