Meeting of Galliers creditors to take place
Wednesday 10th February 2010, 6:00PM GMT.

A meeting of creditors of Shropshire construction company Frank Galliers, which shut down with the loss of more than 130 jobs, is due to be held next week.
The firm, based at Oxon Business Park, Bicton Heath, Shrewsbury, closed down last month and is being liquidated after running out of cash.
Accountants BDO in Birmingham has arranged the meeting of creditors for next Wednesday, but says it has not been appointed as liquidators.
The meeting will be held at Grays Hotel and Conference Centre in Telford town centre at 10.30am.
It is understood that the company will undergo a Creditors Voluntary Liquidation, where the directors of the company wind the company up and do not have enough cash or assets to pay all the creditors.
A spokeswoman for BDO, said: “BDO has been instru-cted by the directors to assist them in placing the company into liquidation – this inclu-des convening the meeting of creditors. This is part of the procedure of placing the company into liquidation and is a formal instruction by the directors to BDO.”
Frank Galliers closed the offices at its Shrewsbury headquarters after becoming insolvent despite a multi-million pound order book. Work on several high-profile developments, inclu-ding the £7 million Oswald Park Leisure Centre in Oswestry and £1.3 million Bishop’s Castle Community Hospital, has been halted.
The latest accounts held at Companies House, for the year ending December 2007, show the company made a trading profit of £120,382 but had debts of around £7.3 million, including more than £5 million owed to trade creditors. No-one from Frank Galliers was available to comment today.
