Floral tributes have been laid at the entrance to the Shropshire business park where the body of Hugh McFall was found by police.

The tributes to Mr McFall were laid by long-term friends who, despite the police investigation into why he killed himself after murdering his wife and daughter, felt they needed pay their respects to the businessman.

Several floral tributes have been left at the entrance to the St Martins Business Park in Ellesmere Road.

One, signed from Paula and Mal, said: “Alright boss man. Things will never be the same without you.”

Another simply said: “Miss you loads” and another was laid in memory of Mr McFall, his wife Susan and daughter Francesca, known Frankie.

Another tribute, signed from Pauline and Joy, said “Never forget you” and another, from Sarah, Ian, Melissa and Emily, read: “Thanks for all the fun driving lessons. Got there in the end”.

Tom Hughes, of St Martins, said he knew Mr McFall fairly well and was shocked by the tragedy. Mr Hughes said: “He was a quiet, sociable man. He was nice enough. I often saw him when he was delivering flowers to Stan’s Superstore in St Martins.”

St Martins businesswoman Rose Crocker also paid her respects to the McFalls.

Mrs Crocker, who runs St Martins Service Station with her brother Mike Horst, said: “I knew Sue for years. We are the same age and we went to school together at what was Oswestry High School.

“She was lovely and I got to know Hugh as well. He seemed very nice and he would come into the garage to chat to Mike quite often. It is hard to get your head around all of this.

“I did not know Francesca but by all accounts she seemed a very nice and bright girl who was very popular.”
