Di’s back after a break

Tuesday 9th February 2010, 10:38AM GMT.

Former Beacon Radio breakfast show presenter Di Jean-Paul has returned to the airwaves after a two-year break with a new job on Telford FM and The Severn.

Shropshire-based Di, from Admaston in Telford, said she had finally bowed to constant pressure to get back in the business since leaving Beacon two years ago.

The former Ryan and Di show presenter is helping to spearhead a marketing and sa- les campaign with the Shropshire stations, having spent the last two years in the industry.

Di said: “After I left Beacon I was constantly getting people stop me in the street asking when I was going back on the radio.

“So many people asked that it really helped me make up my mind.

“There really was no better radio home for me than the one on my own doorstep.

“I like the way it advertises, it is a family run business and I knew I would be made to feel welcome.”

The 41-year-old is now Mrs McClelland since marrying and she has a three-year-old son, Lucas. She hails from London but has lived in Shropshire for the last seven years.

Lisa Mahey, sales director with Telford FM and The Severn, said: “It’s fantastic news that Di has joined the teams at our stations. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience, excellent relationships with people across the county and these are very exciting times for all of us.”
