Burglar-hit Cineworld open

Tuesday 9th February 2010, 10:35AM GMT.

A Shrewsbury cinema which was hit by burglars has reopened to moviegoers.

Screenings at Cineworld, in Old Potts Way, were cancelled for a large part of yesterday after burglars broke in and caused damage.

The cinema reopened to the public at 5pm but customers are only able to watch films if they pay by cash because the computer system is down. A spokeswoman said: “Cineworld did everything to reopen quickly without causing too much disruption.”

Staff alerted police just after 6am yesterday after finding problems with the door at the eight-screen complex.
