Jobs joy as home expands
Saturday 6th February 2010, 11:30AM GMT.
About 30 jobs could be created when a £2 million extension is completed at a Shropshire nursing home.
Work is to start on the scheme, including 31 en suite rooms, at Innage Grange in Bridgnorth this month.
Ludlow MP Philip Dunne will perform the ground-breaking ceremony on February 19, joined by town mayor Councillor Val Gill and other dignitaries.
The home is owned by Coverage Care, which took it over from the former Shropshire County Council.
Coverage chief executive David Coull said the work should be completed before the end of the year, increasing the home’s capacity to 80 en suite units.
“The new two-storey extension will adjoin and share the facilities at Innage Grange,” he said. “We will be investing in another 30 nursing staff.”
Coverage Care employs 700 people – including 65 in Bridgnorth – at 16 sites in Shropshire.
Innage Grange is the first “dual-registered” home ope- rated by the company, meaning it can be run as a care home and a nursing unit.
