Balloons release at funeral of teenager
Thursday 4th February 2010, 1:09PM GMT.

Helium balloons will be released at the funeral of a Shropshire teenager who was killed in a road smash.
Police today urged drivers to be prepared for traffic congestion in Pontesbury, near Shrewsbury, while the funeral of Sophie Rowlands is held.
A large number of people are expected to attend St George’s Church tomorrow afternoon for the teenager’s funeral.
The 18-year-old died when her car was in collision with a Volvo grain lorry just south of Shawbury on the A53 at about 5pm on January 25.
To celebrate Miss Rowlands’s life her family has invited those attending the service to bring along helium balloons to be released on the day.
Only family flowers are requested and a collection will be made for the Midlands Air Ambulance.
Police are urging all drivers planning to use the main A488 through the village to be prepared for congestion between 2pm and 4pm.
