Re: the explosion in Shrewsbury.
The businesses, road traffic, pedestrian and cyclist chaos in the town centre following the blast on the corner of Smithfield Road and Bridge Street demonstrates the vulnerability of our road system from fire, flooding, road accidents, vehicle breakdowns or roadworks.
Therefore, it requires a new three-tonne “rabbit run” between Berwick Road and The Mount, or between Coton Hill and Frankwell Guildhall. This will resolve the congestion and air pollution without enticing larger vehicles into the centre.
It would also make the Berwick Road showground a more viable venue.
