TV crew to film country scenes
Monday 1st February 2010, 9:39AM GMT.
Picturesque scenes from Shropshire will be shown to a nationwide TV audience after a crew from BBC’s Countryfile arrived in the county today.
Programme-makers and presenters, including Matt Baker and Julia Bradbury, stayed over- night at the Long Mynd Hotel and were due to film throughout the day.
Jo Mason, spokeswoman for the National Trust, said: “It’s great that they’re filming here. They’re looking at land use issues and talking to people with sheep, wardens from the National Trust and others.”
Bruce McMichael, editor of Taste Shropshire, who promotes the county as a tourist destination, said: “It’s wonderful news that Countryfile are in Shropshire. It’s the UK’s leading rural affairs programme.
“The presenters are very knowledgeable and intelligent and it will be interesting to see their take on Shropshire.”
The programme is due to go out on February 14.
