Play-off dream a big task for Bucks

Wednesday 27th January 2010, 11:07AM GMT.

afc telfordAFC Telford United have pledged not to give up on the Blue Square North play-off dream – despite admitting: “We have left ourselves a massive task.”

The Bucks find themselves seven points adrift of the top five after a faltering campaign to date.

Some of their rivals also have games in hand, but Telford have vowed to continue the fight.

“It’s a massive task and we have made it very difficult for ourselves,” said assistant manager Larry Chambers.

“But some teams in the play-off positions are drawing games and that happened last night with Eastwood (1-1 with Alfreton).

“If we can get on a sequence of wins, there is no reason why we can’t push on because three or four wins on the trot puts you right back up there.

“But we need that first win to get us going – and there is no point talking about it, we need to go out and do it.

“If we are going to give ourselves any chance at all, we really need to get ourselves on a run.”

Meanwhile, Telford will have to wait to learn whether recent defensive signing Aaron Brown will be available for Saturday’s clash with Eastwood.

Brown made his debut against Stafford last week but missed the 3-0 defeat at Southport on Saturday because of a slight hamstring injury picked up while training with Accrington Stanley.

Brown continues to train with the League Two club and Chambers revealed: “We just have to take it day-by-day with regards whether Aaron will be available for Saturday.”
