New grill means 10 jobs

Wednesday 27th January 2010, 11:20AM GMT.

More than 10 jobs will be created when a 70-seater restaurant opens at a stately home on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border.

Weston Park’s new Granary Bar and Grill is to open later in the year.

Work is already under way at the park near Shifnal which will see the new restaurant built in the west wing of the 18th century granary building.

Managers said the restaurant would be the last piece in the jigsaw of the park’s restoration programme, which saw the arrival of a farm shop and art gallery last year.

Colin Sweeney, Weston Park’s chief executive, said: “This is a very exciting time for Weston as our latest project will complete the Weston Park all year round experience.”

Park bosses plan to open the restaurant in the spring.
