Village land now a green

One of the last patches of open space in a Telford parish is now off limits to developers after borough councillors decided to officially designate it a village green.
The decision, taken yesterday by Telford & Wrekin Council’s licensing committee, grants the status to land off High Street and Manse Road in Hadley.
Committee chairman Councillor Veronica Fletcher said the decision was unanimous and members were delighted that “this oasis of calm will now be safeguarded in perpetuity”.
