Bat roost vandals start fire
Monday 25th January 2010, 9:34AM GMT.

Vandals broke into a building in Telford believed to be a roosting area for bats and set light to furniture.
Firefighters were called to the building at Lightmoor at 3.40pm yesterday.
Police said today someone is believed to have forced their way into the building.
Spokesman Chris Ammonds said: “We had a call from the fire service saying they were dealing with a fire in Lightmoor. It appears someone has broken into a bat house and possibly set fire to an armchair inside.
“We have attended and the building has been board- ed up and made safe after the fire service has put the fire out. We are working with the fire service to establish what happened.
“It looks like the bat house may have been turned into a den fairly recently.”
He appealed for anyone with information to call police on 0300 333 3000.
A Shropshire Fire & Rescue spokeswoman said: “Access was gained and it is believed the property had been broken into and furniture at the property set alight.
“There was no evidence bats were at the property. Nobody was injured.”
